In 2014, Love Lions Alive was contacted by Captured in Africa Foundation to take a lion in – Beau. He came to us weak, thin and unwell, having been saved by an Australian volunteer, Jane. He came from a tourist facility that intended to sell him for hunting.

After much love, care, good food and appropriate medication, Beau now roams proudly around his home at Love Lions Alive, which he shares with his friend, Taai. We had noticed Beau was longing to share his enclosure with another lion – particularly with his at-the-time neighbour, Taai. After 14-months of alternating the two lions between camp 2, they moved into the camp together and are now the best of friends!

Beau has the most amazing ability to jump straight up, high into the air catching his food, he roars more than the others and has a statuesque physique and beautiful stance.
