Cleopatra, who we affectionately call “Cleo”, was a female puma who came to Love Lions Alive sanctuary in her later years and has since passed away. Cleo came to us from a zoo that had been shut down in Bloemfontein, South Africa, with her son, Phoenix. She was an “elderly” cat in need of a restful and spacious home to spend her last leg of life. We built the best enclosure for her and her son possible, with rocky outcrops for them to climb and vegetation for them to hide and rest in. Cleo was euthanized at 14-years-old due to lung cancer that would have killed her slowly. 

Cleo deserved so much more in her life than she got. She was far too magnificent, far too dignified,  to have ever been kept within walls. We will continue to tell her story and say her name. Rest in peace, beautiful Cleo.
