Reign

Reign was one of four cubs born to Savannah and Clyde in December of 2011. Savannah, their mother, had left the cubs in the scrub under the gum trees in the enclosure and was laying in an interlinking enclosure. With their mother not nearby, the tiny cubs began to squirm apart and caught the interest of their father, Clyde.

He began to swat and play with the cubs, and the group that had been observing them through binoculars realised there was already a dead cub in the grass, and that he had killed another one. Clyde was then lured away but Savanah had not gone back to them. The three surviving cubs were then rescued from the enclosure and given to the Love Lions Alive team on the condition that we would rear them and care for them.

Reign was one of these cubs. She was raised alongside her siblings, as well as Sienna. She has always been an intelligent, brave and inquisitive lioness. Reign was moved to the new location of Love Lions Alive sanctuary on 10 March 2017 and  is living happily with Shannon and Sienna. At Love Lions Alive we have our cats sterilised to prevent breeding and more cubs being born in captivity and being potentially rejected or killed by the mother or another older lion.
