Sasha was born in August of 2015 and passed away in 2024 after being ill with cancer. Sasha came to Love Lions Alive with his brother, Moya. They were cubs intended for hunting once they had grown larger. However, in a miraculous turn of events, the girlfriend of one of the hunters bought these cubs to instead give to us, a sanctuary. Sasha grew into a jaw-dropping lion who was confident and proud, despite having been terrified upon his arrival. He lived with his brother as well as Natacha, and he spent much of his days snuggling and loving his mates. Sasha unfortunately developed a cancerous tumour. He lived a dignified life full of love and African sunshine.

We will always be grateful Sasha and the joy that he brought to us and his mates. He was a spectacular lion who is now roaring in heaven. Rest easy, Sasha, we love you.
